RESUME
Alina Spanuth holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Management from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, Spain. Her research focuses on social entrepreneurship and the social entrepreneurial ecosystem in adverse conditions, such as disaster effected regions. Other research fields include community organizing, as well as social and ethical issues around marginalized societal groups and their inclusion through socioeconomic development.
As a postdoc at the CEBRIG ULB and CIRTES UCLouvain Alina is working with Marek Hudon (ULB), Anaïs Perilleux (UCLouvain), and Coline Serres (KULeuven) on governance mechanisms in urban commons by investigating the case of squats in the Brussels area. The results will contribute to understanding how commons can be organized among societal groups by operating outside the state or market logic, but instead based on collective action and solidarity of community members.
