RESUME
Lorenzo Cicatiello is Associate Professor in Public Economics at the Department of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Naples “L’Orientale”. His research is focused on the analysis of public policies, in particular transparency of governments, administrations and public budgets. He is also interested in conventional and unconventional political participation and income inequality, and in his spare time he likes to read about the philosophy of economics.
Alongside his teaching and academic research, in recent years he has carried out several consultancy projects for foundations, focusing on issues related to territorial inequality and local administrative capacity.
His research strategy is mostly based on the empirical analysis of primary and secondary data. During his research experience, he has focused on expanding his statistical toolbox. As a result, his published research applies a variety of quantitative methods, including panel regressions, multilevel analysis, regression discontinuity designs, synthetic control methods, and field experiments, depending on the research setting and the hypotheses tested.
